About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

In this two-hour workshop, we’ll learn how to use our sublimation equipment to create a customized mug with full-color decoration! We’ll start by discussing sublimation printing and transfer - how it works, what it’s good for, and what the limitations are - before walking through the safety and operation of our sublimation printer and mug press. We’ll then use a template to design, print, and transfer personalized decorations to 11oz mugs that participants take home. See below for some examples we made!

After this workshop, attendees should be able to create decorated or personalized mugs using our sublimation equipment. With a different template and design, the same techniques can be extended to other drinkware: larger mugs, tumblers, shot glasses, and more.

Want to explore further with sublimation transfer? Check out our Decorate a T-Shirt with Sublimation workshop, which uses our 16" x 20" heat press to create full-color decorations on shirts!

A laptop is recommended for this workshop, but loaner laptops are available for attendees without one.

Not a problem! We'll start from the basics and work up so you understand the process of sublimation transfer.

How does the reduced-price registration work?

We’re happy to be able to offer a reduced-price tuition program, with the balance of the tuition paid by a generous grant from the Lei and Chen Family Foundation. For more information on reduced-price tuition, please refer to our website: https://www.open-workshops.com/classes-workshops

Nope - registration includes all required tools and supplies for this workshop. You may wish to bring a laptop to work on your own design, but we have loaner laptops and shared PCs available if you don't.
