Join in on the first of 3 workshops in our Sexual Wellness Series in partnership with the Founder and CEO of <a href="https://www.instagram.com/pro__hoe/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">ProHoe</a>, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/pendajai/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Penda N&#x27;Diaye</a>!In this workshop we&#x27;ll be learning a brief history on the sexuality of indigenous and Native peoples pre-colonization. Some thoughts from PendaGive our ancestors their flowers because they were the true progressives of diverse sexualities and identities. Our modern day philosophies are a bit late.Colonialism and capitalism in the Americas was a violent genocide based on gender, race, and sexuality and, YUP, you guessed it: the Hetero patriarchy attacked indigenous values, forcing assimilation and erasure of language and ideas.Sex PRE-colonialism was positive, you knew about it from an early age, a gift from the creator, a way to show love, baby-making, woven into the fabric of who we are- not to be shamed or ridiculed.POST, sex was shameful, viewed as unnatural, something to be hidden and spearheaded by cis, hetero men.Your sexual identity and gender is valid because our ancestors said so!
