In November Dr. John Armstrong penned an article in The Spectator, &quot;<a href="https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/the-sinister-attempts-to-decolonise-mathematics/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The sinister attempts to ‘decolonise’ mathematics</a>,&quot; in which he describes a proposal of new standards for teaching university mathematics that accounts for Europe’s colonial history. Dr Armstrong pushed back against this idea. His initiative won the support of several colleagues, an unusual occurrence for these kinds of political intrusions into the sciences.Join the National Association of Scholars for our next edition of Restoring the Sciences on February 17, 2023, at 3 pm ET for a discussion with Dr. John Armstrong as we discuss efforts to decolonize mathematics. This webinar will feature John Armstrong, a Reader in Financial Mathematics at University College London and a former Executive Director in Operations Technology at Goldman Sachs.The discussion will be hosted by J.
