She is a technology consultant supporting INNOQ customers with their technology transformation. She works as Principal Tech Lead at SAP Signavio and is mostly interested in data-intensive systems, distributed systems, and data engineering.https://women-in-data-ai.tech/speakers/susanne-braun*﻿************************************************************************************************************A﻿BSTRACTSTitle: Data MeshData Mesh is a socio-technical approach for a decentralized data architecture to enable domain teams to perform data analytics and enable data-driven decisions in companies. This talk is about the four basic principles of data mesh: Data Ownership, Data as a Product, Self-serve Data Platform, and Federated Computational Governance. I will also explicitly address what data mesh is not. We then learn a methodology to design the heart of Data Mesh: "Data Products"Title: Eventual Consistency – Don’t be afraid!Distributed data-intensive systems are increasingly designed to be only eventually consistent. Persistent data is no longer processed with serialized and transactional access, exposing applications to arange of potential consistency and concurrency anomalies that need to be handled by the application itself. Controlling concurrent data access in monolithic systems is already challenging, but the problem is exacerbated in distributed systems. To make it worse, only little systematic engineering guidance is provided by the software architecture community regarding this issue.Susanne shares her experiences from different case studies with industry clients, and novel open access design guidelines developed using action research.
