Explore the art of entomology in this hands-on, beginner-friendly class! We will be pinning Acherontia atropos, better known as the Death's Head Hawkmoth. This class includes a pinning kit, your moth, a shadowbox frame, all instruction, and access to a digital pinning course to take home (to save your memory!). Note: you will be mounting your moth at home once dried, glues and process will all be discussed.

This class is designed for all skill levels, ages 12 and up. Each ticket is for one seat. Due to space constraints, no guests or spectators will be allowed in class.

Please arrive up to 10 minutes prior to the start time to sign in. Learners under the age of 18, please arrive with an adult to check in.

*Students with shellfish sensitivities should note that some species of moths, scorpions, and beetles can produce similar reactions. Gloves will be provided as needed.

Can I bring my friend to watch?

Due to limited space only ticket holders will be permitted in class. Oddities Ink has a lovely waiting area in the front of the shop for anyone who wishes to hang out but doesn't want to join in the buggy fun.

Are your insects ethically sourced?

This is a very subjective topic. I prefer to say that my insects are "responsibly sourced" because ethics will vary from person to person. I select insects that are not threatened, whose populations are stable, and source from sellers who support farms.

Is this the moth from Silence of the Lambs?

Yes!
