Workshop Objectives

• OST staff will be able to identify and handle the behavioral, environmental and programmatic factors that promote positive interactions with youth.
• OST staff will become aware of their own body language, tone of voice and vocabulary when talking to a youth to prevent a crisis and promote positive outcomes.
• OST staff will be able to work as a team to decrease manipulation, boundaries issues and receive support from co-workers when dealing with a youth pre-crisis.
• OST staff will be able to redirect angry youth without becoming disrespectful or agreesive
• OST staff will be able to stop and think before they react to youth behaviors
