Need to HIRE welders now or in the near future? Are you seeking employees who enjoy welding or do you want to train future welders for Free?

AGENDA:

11:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. Brief Tour and Overview Presentation.

12 p.m. - 12:45 p.m. Lunch & Meet-and-Greet with current and past Welding Certificate students. Manufacturers will present their businesses and job openings, and students will deliver their "elevator pitch”.

Join MACC/DC at a meet and greet opportunity at Delaware County Community College’s Advanced Technology Center. Meet soon-to-be graduates of a 225-hour hands-on Weld Certificate Program that prepares students for entry-level welding positions.

Students are expected to earn their certificates in September 2025. We will learn about the program, the students, and educators. Perhaps you’ll meet a future employee!

DCCC’s Welding Certificate Program delivers an introduction to welding and training in oxyfuel cutting, shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, blueprint reading and basic fabrication. These skills are in high demand and will prepare students for entry-level welding positions. The program is tuition-free through Philadelphia Good Works Job Challenge.

The training curriculum for welders and was prepared by Delaware County Community College using Federal funds under award ED22HDQ3070127 from the Economic Development Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce. The statements, findings, conclusions, and recommendations are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Economic Development Administration or the U.S. Department of Commerce.

The mission of the Collegiate Consortium for Workforce and Economic Development is to provide high quality training and education to businesses and to develop a highly skilled workforce for Philadelphia and the surrounding region. Philadelphia Works, together with six counties in Southeast PA, develops and launches training programs to build regional workforce skills within targeted growth industries, which include Welding.

Tickets for the Meet-and-Greet are FREE. Closed-toed shoes are required for visiting the welding classrooms.
