Day Eight

THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT but WAIT LIST tickets are still available. If you have a waitlist ticket: at 2pm we'll start letting people in off the wait list. Because this is a free ticket we expect some of the reserved 100 tickets won't show. Our max capacity is 100.

The finalists competing for audience votes to win the book contract, are: MICHAEL CAMERON, ROSE STRODE, JOHN JOHNSON, and SUSAN MEEHAN.
The finalists were selected out of three separate reading/open mic events by poets <A HREF="https://www.poets.org/poetsorg/poet/abdul-ali" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Abdul Ali</A>, <A HREF="https://www.pw.org/content/gregory_luce" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Gregory Luce</A>, <A HREF="https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems-and-poets/poets/detail/e-ethelbert-miller" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Ethelbert Miller</A>, <A HREF="http://www.writer.org/MelanieFigg" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Melanie Figg</A>, <A HREF="http://www.beltwaypoetry.com/ross4/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Joseph Ross</A>, and <A HREF="http://www.beltwaypoetry.com/poetry/poets/names/evennou-danielle/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Danielle Evennou</A>. Gregory Luce is the Reading Series Director.
The Event to Select a Poet to Win the Book contract is:  Saturday May 13th 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the Anacostia Public Library.
The book launch reading at the Anacostia Library will be: Saturday August 12th 2:00pm - 3:30 pm at the Anacostia Public Library.

Poetry workshop with Abdul Ali March 25 10:00 AM to Noon
Open Mic #1 with featuring poets Abdul Ali and Gregory Luce Saturday March 25 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Open Mic #2 with featuring poets Ethelbert Miller and Melanie Figg Saturday April 1 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm 
Open Mic #3 with featuring poets Joe Ross and Danielle Evennou Saturday April 8 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
