It is now an evidence-based practice that assists clients with mood, personality, anxiety, addictive, and trauma-related disorders. DBT provides clients with skills that promote emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. This training will provide participants with an overview of this approach and its different applications. This online training requires a working camera and microphone to attend. It is a two-day training with a 1 HR lunch break each day. MST. (12 CEUs)

Therapist
Mary Evans, LPCC, has worked with Serna Solutions for 6 years, in the capacity of therapist, supervisor, and trainer. Ms. Evans has a BA in music and theatrical arts, which has allowed her to travel to many parts of this country and the world. She earned her MA at Southwestern College, where she learned a holistic and integrative approach to therapy. Ms. Evans did her internship at Presbyterian Mental Services and Las Cumbres Community Services. During her internship, she gained experience with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, infant mental health, children’s mental health, and Motivational Interviewing.
Ms. Evans utilizes CBT, DBT, and IFS in her work with adults, adolescents, parents, couples, and caregivers. In addition, she offers mental health professionals and organizations training in DBT. Ms. Evans is currently pursuing her Level 1 certification in IFS.
Ms. Evan’s approach treats the whole individual, and believes that the client’s experiences, environment, and current issues can impact mental, emotional, and physical well-being. She gives her clients the skills to address emotional upset, as well as to gain an understanding and acceptance of events that impact their lives, helping them to create a life worth living.
