About this event

Dating Success: Strategies for Making Dating Fun for Adults ages 21 to 50! is a unique, results-oriented support group that helps you achieve profound strides in your dating life! Along with a small, intimate group of supportive facing similar challenges, we identify your strengths (don't worry, you have a lot!) and fine-tune those issues that are causing you to stay in the "friend zone."

We address those behaviors, thought patterns and learning styles considered to fall outside the norm (diagnoses such as ADHD, Autism, Learning Disorders, Neurodiversity) that may have become a struggle for you in dating and finding "the one" including:

Flirting effectively to make sure s/he knows you're interested!

Making effective eye contact and reading body language and cues

Overcoming shyness and moving out of your comfort zone

Lessening your stress level in the face of new situations

Planning an exciting to ensure you both have a wonderful time!

Working flexibility and adaptability into your planning sensory issues such as crowds, noise, temperature extremes, etc.

Anticipating and developing strategies for your date that may involve

Exploring the evolution of your dating and turning that into a lasting relationship!

What is the difference between a support group and group therapy?

We are not treating a mental health condition in this group. It is a peer support group where we help one another navigate the practical realities of dating.

Organized by

Benjamin Meyer is a bilingual psychotherapist and coach who specializes in helping neurodiverse adults adapt to employment and social demands as well as couples build communication strategies. He provides a combination of practical and psychological l strategies that focus on strengths and managing challenges. Having been diagnosed with Nonverbal Learning Disorder (NVLD) as an adult, he knows first-hand the struggles of navigating daily life with this neurological profile. Ben has dedicated his professional career to providing services to individuals with NVLD and neurodiverse adults. He believes that more therapists should be familiar with NVLD and neurodiversity in general to help clients navigate it and its impact on Mental health.

Benjamin graduated with his MSW from NYU Silver School of Social Work in 2011 and has been practicing in a variety of settings since then. He has experience working with couples, families, young adults, adolescents, and children in Spanish and English. He has also completed a training program in psycho-dynamic psychotherapy from the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy, and a program in couples and family therapy from the Ackerman Institute. Most recently, he completed an extensive training program in neurodiverse couples therapy from AANE’s Neurodiverse Couples Institute. He is a social ambassador with the NVLD Project.
