Benjamin Meyer is a bilingual psychotherapist and coach who specializes in helping neurodiverse adults adapt to employment and social demands as well as couples build communication strategies. He provides a combination of practical and psychological l strategies that focus on strengths and managing challenges. Having been diagnosed with Nonverbal Learning Disorder (NVLD) as an adult, he knows first-hand the struggles of navigating daily life with this neurological profile. Ben has dedicated his professional career to providing services to individuals with NVLD and neurodiverse adults. He believes that more therapists should be familiar with NVLD and neurodiversity in general to help clients navigate it and its impact on Mental health.
Benjamin graduated with his MSW from NYU Silver School of Social Work in 2011 and has been practicing in a variety of settings since then. He has experience working with couples, families, young adults, adolescents, and children in Spanish and English. He has also completed a training program in psycho-dynamic psychotherapy from the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy, and a program in couples and family therapy from the Ackerman Institute. Most recently, he completed an extensive training program in neurodiverse couples therapy from AANE’s Neurodiverse Couples Institute. He is a social ambassador with the NVLD Project.
