The proliferation of digital technologies and the accelerating pace of digitization are offering new growth opportunities for nations. To progressively move towards the next step of, the Luxembourg Government developed the “Digital Luxembourg” initiative. Under the umbrella of “Digital Luxembourg”, joint private-public ventures and projects find their place, each tackling a different angle of digitization, each bringing the country one step forward.Infrastructure is one of Luxembourg‘s strongest arguments. This working group’s main objective is to keep it that way, even in a changing environment. Internet infrastructure has many aspects. We're discussing innovative technologies and their potential for the local ecosystem.The SnT conducts internationally competitive research in information and communication technology, ICT, with high relevance creating socio-economic impact. In addition to long-term, high-risk research, SnT engages in demand driven collaborative projects with industry and the public sector. Therefore the centre has set up aPartnership Programwith now 38 members targeting strategic areas addressing challenges confronting industry and the public sector in ICT. These resulting concepts present a genuine, long-lasting competitive advantage for companies in Luxembourg and beyond.SnT has undergone a rapid development since its launch in 2009; recruiting top scientists, launching over 50 EU and ESA projects, creating a technology transfer office (TTO), protecting and licensing IP, launching four spin-offs, and creating a dynamic interdisciplinary research environment with some 290 people.

Are you a part of Luxembourg’s digital ecosystem? Digital Luxembourg’s Infrastructure Group in cooperation with the SnT invites you to an afternoon event of forward-looking and open discussions on the future of datacenter demand. Luxembourg has a vibrant community of top-notch datacenter services and infrastructures. But how are machine learning, cloud rendering, autonomous driving and other game-changing technologies shaping the future of datacenters? With a number of international industry speakers, research leaders and you, we want to talk openly about GPU clusters, deep learning in the cloud, FPGA’s, robotics, data analytics and other concrete use-cases for the computing needs of tomorrow. With Luxembourg’s expertise, our ecosystem can and should play a role in next-generation computing!
The event will begin at 14:00 in the Black Box on Uni.lu’s Belval campus in the Maison des Sciences Humaines (entrance door see hereabove picture). We have only 80 seats available, please don't wait to complete your registration
We’ll have two rounds of talks with Q&A’s, coffee and drinks afterwards. Details about the international speaker list will be published here. If you complete your registration, we'll email you the speaker list
Parking spaces are available on Belval’s north entrance, very convenient with only a very short walk.

Le groupe Infrastructure de Digital Luxembourg vous invite à un évènement de discussions ouvertes sur le futur de la demande des centres de données. La communauté des centres de données est dynamique et offre des services de ultra-haute qualité. Mais quel sera l’impact du machine learning, du cloud rendering, de l’autonomous driving ou d’autres technologies nouvelles sur nos centres de données ? Avec un mix d’intervenants de l’industrie et des leader de la recherche, nous voulons en parler de manière franche et ouverte : clusters de GPU, deep learning dans la cloud, FPGA, robotique, analyse de données et autres cas concrets. Avec l’expertise luxembourgeoise, notre écosystème peut et devrait jouer un rôle dans la prochaine génération du computing !

FAQs
 What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
You’ll find a map hereunder with clear indications to the University campus located in Esch-Belval. You can get there quite easily and directly by train or car from the city center. You’ll also find signage on the campus itself to guide you to the room inside of the Maison des Sciences Humaines. The room is called Black Box.

Our March 13th seminar is fully booked, we cannot accept any other reservations. We've met the pysical limits of the "Black box" room. You can register for the waiting list however, we will notify you if a place becomes available. One needs to be registered and bring his entrance ticket to get entrance to the event
