Database Optimisation -  A Dive into Query Optimizer

Born out of a desire that technology professionals in Technopark, Kerala, should not lag behind when it comes to the futuristic technologies, FAYA:80 was kick-started in June, 2013 and is organized on the first Wednesday of every month at the Floor of Madness, FAYA in Technopark, Trivandrum.FAYA:80 celebrated its 50th edition in July, 2017 with DISRUPT KERALA 2017, a day-long tech event, with a lineup of global speakers and visionaries. DISRUPT KERALA 2017 also saw the launch of two separate ongoing chapters of FAYA:80 in Kochi and Kozhikode, which are conducted on the second and third Wednesdays of the month respectively.

Most of us interact with a Database enabled service of some kind or the other almost on a daily basis. This makes Database Management Systems inevitable in the modern world. With millions of data transactions taking place every second, even the most minor of changes can have a dramatic impact on performance, which makes Database Optimisation a very important aspect for the developers to understand.  
Even if you have the most powerful hardware available running your Database Server, its performance can be negatively affected by a couple of wrong queries, which is where Optimisation comes into play.
The 53rd edition of FAYA:80 will be an opportunity for all- technology enthusiasts, web developers, testers and technical managers alike- to take a deeper look into the practice of Database Optimisation. About Speaker
Senior Consultant-Database Administration at EnvestNet Trivandrum, Krishnakumar designs various Database Projects and works closely with development teams, improving and scaling Data Intensive Applications. With around 15 years of experience in software, he has worked extensively on various Database Projects designing scalable Database Systems, Performance Optimizations,Upgrades and Migrations. He is also an active participant in various technical forums and a proponent of Free Knowledge Sharing.
