About this event

Data is a fundamental part of any strategic program strategy. However, once you get that data, how do you evaluate and implement it? How do you create or change your program based on the data your organization has collected? What do inclusive outreach methods look like?

During the course, you will receive tools to help you develop an equitable evaluation strategy for a specific program within your organization. Using the Just Research Design Principles, developed by our facilitator, Dr. Sarojani S. Mohammed, our conversations are meant to foster an understanding and practice of data collection and usage that prioritizes community experience and impact.

By the end of this session, you will be able to:

    • Describe the research and evaluation lifecycle and key steps, and identify where your project sits in that process
    • Consider key equity choice points for each stage in the process.
    • Understand different approaches to research, data and evaluation and how these strategies, like inclusive outreach methods, disaggregation of data and community-led Interpretation can impact equity
    • Identify tools that allow you to capture and track data and measure the success of your program
    • Generate ideas for communicating your results to internal and external stakeholders, including funders
    • Discuss challenges to build research and evaluation into your organization’s culture

Who should attend?

The course is for either individuals or teams who want to explore how their organization is using data and contribute to building a culture of learning in their evaluation practices.

This is a virtual, 2-day course with a 3-hour session the first day and a 3-hour session the second day.
