Bring your own data and learn strategies on how to make visualizing your data have a greater impact. Led by Drake Professor and data visualization expert, Tim Urness, you will gain information through a series of presentations, large and small group exercises, and facilitated discission. Topics include:
- Leveraging human perception to make visualization more effective
- Storytelling with data
- Dashboards
- Effective use of color, charts, and graphs
Bring your own computer loaded with whatever data visualization tools you are comfortable with (Tableau, PowerBI, Excel). Feel free to bring data you hope to visualize better (datasets will also be provided) with a goal to make notable progress on your project. We’ll workshop ideas, connect with others, and share strategies to visualize and present data effectively.
Location: TBA on Drake University's campus
