Data Storytelling 101 is a foundational course on creating compelling and persuasive visuals to support findings from the data. Learn from experts on setting up your presentation, the visual display of information (including data) and walk away with best practices on presenting information effectively to any audience.

Learning Objectives: Participants will be able to:

· Identify main goals for your story

· Review the Pyramid Principle for presenting information effectively

· Identify data needed to enhance decision making

· Understand how data is distilled into key points using reports, dashboards and visuals

· Apply best practices for visually emphasizing key points

Speakers:

Carolyn Stillwell who works at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, launched the Data Storytelling Center of Excellence. She’s inspired to teach visual communication skills that help people tell clear and compelling stories around data. Before joining CHOP, Carolyn spent 20 years running a design consultancy working with Fortune 500 companies, academic institutions and non-profits

Genna Kreher leads the Data Enablement teams within CHOP’s Enterprise Data and Analytics Team. Genna joined CHOP in 2014. Prior to developing and leading CHOP's first data literacy team, she served in several roles within data and analytics, policy and standards development in data governance and as a senior clinical data analyst for 5 years focusing on process improvement and reporting. She is passionate about driving data fluency and democratization as well as process optimization and best practices for data thought leaders.

Speaker slide deck and recording of live session will be made available to all registered attendees after the conclusion of the live stream for personal use only.

Yes! If you register to attend and cannot attend the livestream at the scheduled date/time, the recording and slidedeck will be made available following the conclusion of the live program. You will have ~3 weeks to review the recording in order to receive CPHQ CE credit.
