Data Science meets Computational Creativity

Generative AI has established a strong connection between machine learning and creativity. The relationship between data science and computational creativity is older and richer, however, than a straightforward use of machine learning to generate content similar to some training material. In this talk, I will shed light on this matter by illustrating different ways of using data science for creativity, by contrasting data science and computational creativity, and by discussing the creativity of current generative AI systems.
