Data Literacy in the Public Sector Workshop

Government professionals are often left behind technology trends and the move towards data-driven culture is no different. This workshop intends to bridge that gap.
 Attendees will have an opportunity to improve their data literacy related to evidence-based policy, data-driven analysis, artificial intelligence, or data science. The goal of the workshop is to support experienced government employees who can make valuable contributions to improving data technology. No technical training is assumed nor does this workshop have any prerequisites. The workshop is designed for those planning to integrate data analysis into their daily work and want an introduction to core concepts and concerns. Bring your questions and your curiosity. Attendees will enjoy confidential small group discussions as well as informal conversations with experienced practitioners from United States federal and New York City government organizations. No Media please.
This is the second part of two-part reflection on the practical and philosophical aspects of implementing public policy within data-driven environments. Preceding the afternoon workshop, the morning panel “Technological Due Process : Revisited” is a conversation with leading legal scholars on the implications of automated decisions in government.
