About this event

Our next symposium will examine how we can improve our data collection processes to be more equitable. We envision a discussion on how project design, monitoring, and evaluation can reinforce implicit biases and assumptions that result in incomplete or even inaccurate findings. Questions that come to mind include:

  • Why do we collect data
  • The power contained in how and what we collect
  • Who is collecting and interpreting data and how
  • Who is included/excluded , in what ways is data collection extractive
  • How to reimagine and better balance use of qualitative/quantitative data

We hope that this gathering will provide examples of best practices and useful tools to inform your everyday work.
