Description
Accessing and Analyzing City Agency and Census Data for Community Based Organizations
We’re less than a year away from the country’s first digital decennial census—where 80 percent of households will be asked to complete their census forms online. Community-based organizations will be essential partners in connecting with hard-to-count communities to promote census awareness.
Join Queens Public Library for a hands-on workshop on how census data and other open records can be used in non-profit decision-making—from fundraising and representation to organizational transparency and accountability.
Participants will gain practice in conducting data analysis, using a question-first framework, and the basics of Microsoft Excel while accessing open data resources.
This workshop will be held four times at Queens Public Library locations in July and August:
