About the organizer
Hi, I'm Hermioni! I'm passionate about sharing my love of using data to improve decision-making, enhance problem-solving, develop analytical skills, and understand the world around us! I hold a PhD in chemical engineering, and I've worked intensely with data throughout my career in many areas: I've researched gastric cancer using large, complex genomic datasets, I've built and scaled a data visualization tool in the laboratory industry, and I've partnered with artificial intelligence and big data technology startups in Silicon Valley for a large pharmaceutical company. In my spare time, I volunteer as Director of Experiential Learning at a nonprofit supporting underrepresented college women in science, technology, engineering, math (STEM), where I design "real-world" STEM projects for college students. I love drawing from my experiences to help others start their journey in learning data-driven thinking, one of the most important skills today as data becomes becomes increasingly prevalent in life and work.
