About this event

In celebration of Global Philadelphia Association's World Heritage Week, PHILADELPHIA250 and The Welcoming Center present "Dare to Declare! A Conversation About the Declaration of Independence". As the nation's semiquincentennial (or 250th) anniversary approaches in 2026, we reflect upon the meaning of the United States’ founding document, its core ideals, and their ongoing influence and relevance to the lives of all people who live here today. How has the United States lived up to its ideals, and how can the country do better in how it cares for and welcomes people?

Please join us for an exciting and thought-provoking civic conversation and networking event for friends and participants of The Welcoming Center's programs. Let’s discuss what Philadelphia's immigrant and international communities think about this important U.S. milestone and how you believe the ideals of the Declaration are present in – and absent from – their experience living in Philadelphia today.

Light bites and drinks will be provided. Photo ID required to enter the building.
