Overview

A short film by Keaton Ventura.

A Q&A with the filmmaker will follow the screening.

About the film:

Dandelions is a 12-minute film centered on the filmmaker's father, who since the 1940s has marked each spring by foraging wild dandelion greens in their hometown of Geneva, NY, and preparing them as a seasonal salad - an Italian-American ritual rooted in the Depression era that has grown increasingly rare. Last year, while home between larger projects, Keaton Ventura documented one of these expeditions. The film reflects a vanishing food tradition, the evolving relationship between father and son, and the ways memory and inheritance shape us over time.
