ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Jasmine Murrell is an interdisciplinary visual artist that employs several mediums to create living sculptures and installations that serve to reimagine environments with the objective of radical imagination and healing. A wide range of materials are used to invoke transformative experiences around historical erasures and the interspecies relationships between all living beings. The use of bio art materials in her work reveal alternative truths and other realms which arise from large-scale work involving an expansion of traditional weaving combined with American artifacts. Murrell's practice is an intersection of sculpture, film, wearables, nonlinear performance, traditional black medicine, celestial memory, land art, weaving and technology.
