Dix Park is the site of one of the most exciting new park projects in America. The 308-acre site blends historic architecture and rich landscapes into a unique destination in the heart of Raleigh, North Carolina. Admission free programs and events are made possible through the generous donors  of the Dix Park Conservancy. Gipson Play Plaza at Dix Park

Grab your dancing shoes and join us for a lively night of Dancing at Dix! Unwind with music, movement, and great company as you learn fun square dances and easy partner dances—no experience needed.The evening features square dancing led by <a href="https://schlitter.com/" title="https://schlitter.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Christopher Schlitter of Hexcellent Squares </a>(Raleigh, NC). Whether you come with friends or meet new people, it’s all about laughing, learning, and having a great time.Square dancing attire is encouraged—cowboy hats and boots are fun, but not required! Come ready to dance, connect, and make sweet memories—you won’t want to miss it. <h3>Tickets</h3>While free to attend, space is limited. Registration is required. While all are welcome, we recommend dancers be at least 8 years old.This program is free thanks to Dix Park Conservancy donors. <h3>Directions &amp; Parking</h3>This outdoor program takes place at Fountain Plaza inside Gipson Play Plaza. This increase will likely affect parking availability throughout the entire park. Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Nearby parking cannot be guaranteed. <h3>Weather</h3>In the event of inclement weather, this event will be moved to the the Poole Chapel at 1030 Richardson Dr. in Dix Park and will continue as planned! <h3>Restrooms</h3>Outdoor programs are located at various places throughout the entire park. There are temporary restrooms located at the Big Field, Flowers Field, Magnolia Room, Oak Room, and by the Dog Park. Accessible temporary restrooms are located at the Big Field and Flowers Field. Indoor accessible restrooms are available at Gipson Play Plaza, under the Superintendent’s House at the Stone Houses and at the Chapel during hours of operation. <h3>Accessibility</h3>Dix Park continues to strive to be accessible and welcoming for visitors, including those with disabilities. Currently, portions of Dix Park, including some areas where programs and events occur, have uneven surfaces and are not fully accessible. Accessibility is a primary focus for early park improvements and all future planning and development.Parking: Accessible parking spaces are available in all lots.Restrooms: Accessible temporary restrooms are located at the Big Field and Flowers Field. I hereby irrevocably authorize the City of Raleigh, the Dix Park Conservancy, and program partners to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish, or distribute these photos for any lawful purpose.I have read this release thoroughly and understand that by registering for this program I am waiving legal rights.
