The goal of this symposium is to help break down silos of cultural separation in working towards the common goal of education and art creation. Dancers of various dance styles and cultural backgrounds will work to engage in dialogue about racism, reconciliation, and the arts.What to expect? -Amazing presenters with a welath of knowledge and experience in the world of dance, mental health programming, and inclusive practice propagation!-A SAFE and neutral space to ask questions and grow as an artist, studio owner, teacher, dancer, dance parent, supporter of the arts, or arts worker. -Engagement by BIPOC, LGBTQ+ and mental health activists and experts who will share stories and strategies to help you be more culturally and socially aware. -Information about grants and funds available to you through SK Arts and other funding agencies. -Strategies used by community organizations and established dance companies to create inclusive and safe spaces for all who enter. -Presenters include: Nia Faith Betty and Justice Faith Betty (Révoluntionnaire), Edward and Robin Poitras (New Dance Horizons), Dana Lance (Studio 393), Tamica Small (Saskatchewan Intercultural Society), Miki Mappin and Kyle Syverson (KSAMB Dance), Philip Adams (SK Arts), Kevin Ormsby (Cultural Pluralism in the Arts), Tim Poitras (Blanket Project), and more!*We would like to thank our sponsors, supporters, and contributors for making Dancing Together possible!
