Overview

learn how being an "okay" dancer can set you free

Dance Liberation Circle

***Please read through to the end to know what you're getting into.

If getting out on the dance floor sounds intimidating, but there's a part of you that dreams of busting loose and feeling totally wild and free (without tequila first) THIS IS FOR YOU.

Dancing is one of those things that tows the line of being totally embarrassing, totally boring, totally stressful, or totally awesome. And you might feel all those things here, but you will not be alone.

The Dance Liberation Circle helps us develop the skills, the mindset, and most importantly - the permission - to get rid of our self imposed limitations and let ourselves dance freely and enjoy life together in new ways.

Our circles follow this structure:

5:30-6:30 group discussion (April's topic: The Purpose of Play!)

6:30-7:15 warm up and guided movement prompts

7:15-8 free dance and closing circle

If you want to avoid the Eventbrite fee, you can Venmo $22 to @Christina-Redondo and mention it's for the DLC on April 25th!

A few things to know:

-This space is not about looking good dancing. We work on building the skill of “how to think”, and how to stay present with ourselves while we move.

-Please arrive on time (or early). I lock the doors at 5:35pm, no exceptions.

-We NEVER take photos or record videos. What happens here stays here.

-Participation in all discussion and movement is voluntary, you always have permission to sit back and watch or listen.

-This isn’t group therapy, a debate club, or a dating scene. This group is about having curious discussions, sharing ourselves, and not taking things too seriously.

-I won’t be monitoring messages sent the day of the event. Please sign up ahead of time, follow the directions to find us, and show up exactly as you are - tired, nervous, excited, real.

Excited to have you join the movement!

-Christina

PS: We will be in the loft on the back side of the church. You can park in the parking lot in front of the church, and follow the sidewalk along the right side of the building. You'll see a sidewalk on the left with railings, follow that and walk up the concrete stairs, enter, then up the stairs to the loft.
