Dance Lab

Dance lab is a place where everyone can embrace dance and movement. This is an ecstatic/ free form inspired dance.

No steps or dances will be taught. Just move how you are able to the music.

This is an ecstatic style dance. I don't know a lot of what other people do or use but I know that I use a lot of lyric music. Every week I ask myself differnet questions about what I want the experience to be for the participants. For instance on June 17- I thought about how I wanted the beginning to be confrontational and dramatic. The middle to be playful, almost absurd and humurous. I wanted the ending to thank people for showing up, so I thought how can I bless both the experience we had together and the people for showing up?

Everytime I think something up. It's a dance lab- you are the experiment.

When: Every Wednesday 7-9pm. Opening Circle at 7:10

Where: University Unitarian Church, 6556 35th Ave NE, 98115

Lots of free parking in the parking lot or on the street.

If you use the entrance by the parking lot, come inside and go up a set of stairs and dance will be in the big room on the right.
