Who is this series for?

This is for anyone who is a Dad raising kids and could use some helpful tips and tools to approach parenting.

This class has been created for Scotts Valley residents but anyone in the Santa Cruz County is welcome to attend.

Should I bring my spouse?

This is meant for one of the parenting duo to attend. It gives a chance to explore what issues you may be facing as an individual inside the family dynamic.

What should I bring?

Just yourself! We'll provide you with materials to use and some take homes after the first week.

We'll provide some waters and sodas but no major snacks so plan to eat beforehand.

What about other parenting classes?

Recreation is offering a one day talk on April 12th titled "Parenting Gender Diverse Children" at the Scotts Valley Performing Arts Theater. This is intended for all parents to join to hear stories from 3 individual speakers.

Can I attend just one day? Are the days different?

Accepted Answer

The class is meant to build on week to week - it's not the same content repeated each week. You are welcome to join us for just one if that's all you can make - it will be beneficial and you'll leave with some good tips.

Is there food provided?

Accepted Answer

No, you should plan to eat before or after the event. We'll have water and maybe some small snack but no meal is provided. In the theater, there is only food and drink allowed in designated areas, nothing allowed in the main theater seating space.

What is Resident and Non-Resident?

Accepted Answer

Resident pricing is available to City of Scotts Valley residents. If you reside in other places like Santa Cruz, Felton, Aptos, Capitola, Boulder Creek, please pay the Non-Resident fee. This is because a discount is given to Scotts Valley residents since it is hosted by Scotts Valley Recreation.

What do I need to show to get in the door?

We'll have a list so just have your name and we'll make it easy. If you have your email confirmation on your phone, that's fine, too. We're keeping it casual.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can purchase tickets at the door. We'll be ready, cashless is best!
