Cytrus is a Seattle area eight piece band blending psychedelic funk, disco, electronic, rock, soul, and hip hop into a groove driven, genre crossing sound. Formed when two Everett bands merged after sharing rehearsal space, the group builds layered, high energy songs featuring synths, brass, dual vocals, and rhythm forward arrangements. Cytrus creates a hypnotic, danceable wall of sound that balances tight musicianship with exploratory jams and modern production.
Their new album "Duality": Paying homage to the timeless influences of 1960s & 1970s rock, soul and psychedelia, “Duality” explores themes of good, evil, mortality, immortality and time. With a run time of approximately 45 minutes, listeners are pulled into a psychedelic ecosystem filled with groove-focused instrumentals, soaring solos, hard hitting riffs and euphoric vocals.
Captured using a blend of 1960s & 1970s recording equipment and techniques, in conjunction with vintage and modern instruments, “Duality” leans into nostalgia while supporting its own identity.
