Cytoscape Tutorial for Beginners

Cytoscape is the most popular software for analyzing and visualizing molecular networks and biological pathways. Cytoscape has many powerful features for integrating these networks with annotations, gene expression profiles and other state data.
At this beginner’s clinic, the Cytoscape development team will provide hands-on instruction and guidance on using Cytoscape. Attendees will be able to pose questions directly to Cytoscape tutors and developers. We will start with Cytoscape installation and work our way through the online tutorials available at <A HREF="http://tutorials.cytoscape.org" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">http://tutorials.cytoscape.org</A>. 
This clinic is open to anyone interested in hearing the presentation, working through the tutorials and posing their own Cytoscape-related questions.  
Due to the hands-on format of this clinic attendance is limited to 12 people and registration required.
 
Preparation
Please bring a PC or Mac with Cytoscape v3.6.1 already installed or at least attempted.

9:30 am – 10:15 am Barry Demchak – Welcome, startup and installation
10:15 am – 11:45 am Cytoscape team – Work through Cytoscape tutorials
11:45 am – 12:30 pm Cytoscape team – Discussion

No Show Policy
While we do not charge a fee to attend this event, these and our other events would be unsustainable unless those unable to attend cancelled their reservations no later than 2 days before the event. A no-show can limit your ability to book our events in the future. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
 
Parking
Parking at UC San Diego’s School of Medicine is available to all faculty, staff, and visitors. The closest parking lots are P602, P603, and the Gilman Parking structure. Hourly rates are posted at meters; cards are accepted. If using the UC San Diego Shuttle, exit at Gilman and Meyers and walk south towards School of Medicine.
