Join us for an exciting in-person event at the Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center in Augusta, GA, USA. Our 2024 CyberPatriot Standard Camp will be FREE to all campers! Get ready to dive into the world of cybersecurity and have a blast at our summer camp! Whether you're a beginner or a tech-savvy pro, this camp is perfect for all levels of experience. The camp will run from 9AM to 3PM. Campers MUST BRING THEIR OWN LAPTOP to participate in the camp.

Attending an AFA CyberCamp is the perfect way to get introduced to the world of cybersecurity! Many students who attend an AFA CyberCamp go on to participate in CyberPatriot's National Youth Cyber Defense Competition during the school year. These camps will give students a head start on their STEM career and this experience is what makes CyberPatriot the best National Youth Cyber Education Program in the nation.

The Standard Camp curriculum is designed to allow instructors to pick and choose which areas of interests their students might best learn from. There is more information made available than will fit in a four-hour camp day -- instructors have the option to pick the topics which are best suited for their session. Friday must be reserved for the CyberPatriot competition.

Curriculum: Windows 10 Module -- Windows Graphical Utilities, Windows Command Line, optional Sysinternals Suite.Ubuntu 16 Module -- Init Systems, Advanced Command Line, Processes and Scheduled Tasks, optional Security Policies and PAM, optional Networking.Cisco NetAcad -- Networking Modules 1-3.

Sample Schedule​:

Monday - MODULE 1: Introduction to the CyberPatriot National Youth Cyber Defense Competition, introduction to cybersecurity & careers, cyber ethics, online safety, how computers work, virtual machines, and cyber threats​.

Tuesday - MODULE 2: Cybersecurity principles, basic Windows security policies and tools, account management, windows file protections, and auditing and monitoring. Students will follow along and work with the Windows 10 demonstration image.

Wednesday - MODULE 3: Introduction to Linux, Ubuntu 16 terminology and concepts, basic GUI security, and intro to CLI. Students will follow along and work with the Ubuntu 16 demonstration image.

Thursday - MODULE 4: Basic command line security and intermediate Ubuntu security. Students will follow along and work with the Ubuntu 16 demonstration image.

Friday - CyberPatriot Competition day. Students will compete against their fellow campers on Windows 10 and Ubuntu 16 competition images. ​​

PLEASE NOTE: Chromebooks and ThinkPads are not compatible with CyberCamp software. Mac computers are acceptable, but will not be eligible for technical assistance from the CyberPatriot Program Office. If you believe you will be using Mac computers for your camp, please contact us directly so that we may assist with proper pre-testing before your camp.

Frequently asked questions

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

This camp is designed for rising 6th graders through rising 12th graders who are just getting into cybersecurity or who have cybersecurity knowledge and want to learn more. This camp is open to all CSRA students within that age range.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is a parking deck directly across the street from the Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center located at 100 Grace Hopper Lane, Augusta, GA 30901.

How do I access the event?

Once you register, you will be provided information on how to connect to the 2024 CyberPatriot Standard Camp via a web-based collaboration software and the Learning Management System provided by AFA.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

No. The registration is for your camper only and is not transferrable to anyone else.
