Calling all Cottonwood High School students! If you have a creative attitude toward artistic expression, you're not afraid of the dark, and you like glowsticks, the CVHS would love to see you at our first-ever Blackout Poetry Slam. This event will be open and free to all Cottonwood High School students. We will begin with an introduction to Blackout Poetry, followed by time and materials for students to create their own Blackout Poems. After that, students will have a chance to share their blackout poems, or another piece of artistic expression they may have brought, on stage in front of their peers, or at the hands of one of our curators: Ms. Tompkins, Ms. Boyd, or Mr. L. Not only that but there will be an art gallery featuring student art - individual portals into infinite realities. It's time to turn the lights down, open up our hearts and minds to the stories of your generation, and read between the lines.

Parents - this is a teen drop off event, so please print and fill out the waivers provided by your coordinator to drop your teen off. If you would like to remain on site, we would love to have you check out our lending library next door while the teens are supervised by their teachers.
