CycleNuts Selfie Cycle Tours

CycleNuts Selfie Tours tie together fun, interesting, scenic, historic, tasty, and refreshing points of interest along a bikeway focused tour route where you ride at your pace and your pleasure. You are the tour boss. You pick the date and time - the ticket is good for any day or time - dates/times listed only as a guideline to give you an idea of how long the tour normally takes.

With these smart-guided bikeway cycling adventures you bring the bike and smart phone, and CycleNuts provides the Smart Guide. The Smart Guide gives you voice and visual turn-by-turn instructions along an expertly designed and tested tour route.

Do the tour solo or bring along your crew. 1 ticket = fun for all! Easily stop anywhere along the way to visit attractions or refreshments and the Smart Guide will continue the route from wherever you are when you are ready to roll.

Perhaps the most beautiful crushed stone bikeway in the state of Ohio - the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail is set deep within the magnificent Cuyahoga Valley National Park in-between Cleveland and Akron, Ohio. The flat hard-packed crushed stone bikeway follows the towpath, diverting at points to wind alongside, over, and in-between the Cuyahoga River and Ohio & Erie Canal through woods and fields.

The Cuyahoga Valley National Park runs between two major cities - Cleveland and Akron - yet once one descends into the lavish wooded greenery of the valley the racket of the city is replaced with the sounds of rushing river rapids, the chatter of multiple sorts of wildlife inhabitants and the gentle symphony of nature only to be interrupted by the occasional passing by of people enjoying the trail or river, celebrating the great outdoors.

The Selfie Cycle Tour begins with a train ride where your bike is transported along with you to the CVSR's temporary northern train depot stop. Once there and you continue on your bike to the temporarily closed Rockside Station and then back on your bike to the starting spot at the southern most train depot. Several train station depots are set along the towpath where you can simply wave down any southbound train to return to the starting spot. Refer to the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad train schedule to coordinate your tour plans.

This 56 mile roundtrip smart-guided route is 14 miles of train riding (if only riding the train one way), 92% bikeway, and does not come with CycleNuts' 50% downhill guarantee (because...well... you are riding the train part of the way). Sweating is optional. Except for connector ramps from the canal to the train station the route will see very little use of your bike's gearing. You set your own pace, starting time, guest list (maybe, just you) and touring agenda with CycleNuts' expert smart-guided cycle tour pattern.

Points of interest: Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, Ohio and Erie Canal, Cuyahoga River, Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail, Frazee House, Boston Mill Visitor Center, and Canal Exploration Center. Optional tasty stops at Yours Truly and Lock 15 Brewing Company (CycleNuts tested and approved tasty spots)
