Rocky Mountain Conservancy's Education Team directly supports the organization's mission by offering a wide range of educational opportunities, focused on building a love of wild places and inspiring people to act to preserve them. Educational offerings include half-day, full-day, and multi-day adult programs led by expert instructors, as well as scenic ecology bus tours for the whole family, guided hikes, and special programs just for kids and families.

Customize Your First Aid KitCome join us for a workshop where you'll learn how to customize your own first aid kit!Date: Monday, January 12th, 2026Time: 6:30pm - 8:00pm a one hour presentation followed by 30 minutes of Q &amp; ALocation: Estes Valley Library Hondius RoomBefore heading into the field, it’s important to be ready for the unexpected. In this presentation, we’ll explore how to tailor your first aid kit and skills to your group, destination, and trip length. You’ll learn what to include in a kit, the pros and cons of buying versus building your own, and opportunities to further your medical training. Whether you want to build your own first aid kit from scratch or modify a kit you already have, don't miss this opportunity to take control of your safety and be prepared for whatever comes your way!About Your Instructor: Katie Colson is the Education Coordinator for the Rocky Mountain Conservancy. She is a Wilderness EMT and a member of the Rocky Mountain National Park Search and Rescue team. Katie has guided ice climbing, rock climbing, mountaineering, and backcountry skiing.Questions?
