About this event

You may have heard the term “cupping” being thrown around by coffee professionals, but what exactly does it mean? In this skills lab, we will discuss the history of cupping and how it came to be. We will learn why cupping is such a widely accepted testing and tasting tool. We will walk through the steps of the cupping process and learn about the tools essential to carry out a cupping successfully. There will be an emphasis on palate development as we put our noses and mouths to the test with the help of our Le Nez Du Cafe kit, Acids Tasting kit, as well as a few other tasting exercises.

Upon completing this class, you will receive a Lineage Certificate of Achievement and a bag of coffee.

Organized by

Lineage Academy is a platform for us to share what we've learned in our ten years of experience and research. Our goal is to be the bridge between knowing nothing and learning everything about coffee. We believe craft coffee education should be easily accessible to everyone, not just those lucky enough to get a job in the industry. Which is why we decided to write a series of books covering everything from farming, processing, and roasting, to milk steaming and dialing-in a new coffee. In addition to the books, we will be unveiling classes over the next year which will give you hands-on experience and real-time answers to all your coffee questions. We hope these books and classes spark your excitement and curiosity for all that coffee has to offer.
