Tanner is from Middleton, Idaho and is a senior at the University of Idaho majoring in political science and philosophy with a minor in English. Tanner has served two terms as president of ASUI. He is also a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity and has been involved with several other groups on campus in his time at the university.
