Hear the story of miscalculation, bravery, tragedy, and a cover-up!

On Friday, July 12, join local author and historian George Franks as he shares the history of the July 14, 1863, battle fought in Maryland that ended the Gettysburg Campaign during the Civil War.

This month’s cocktail is the Brandy Alexander, a Civil War era drink. Doors open at 5:30 PM and light hors d'oeuvres will be served!

Founded in 1911, the Washington County Historical Society has played a significant role in preserving historic sites, artifacts and archival records for Washington County, Maryland. Located in downtown Hagerstown, the Miller House serves as the home of the historical society, the kinship Family Heritage Research Center, and the Miller House Museum. The museum gives visitors a taste of life in the 1850s and exhibits showcase important events in Washington County history.
