UBA is partnering with the International Mission Board to offer a Servant Leadership and Cultural Intelligence workshop.Why Servant Leadership? We are all leaders in one fashion or another. Whether pastors, parents, team members, we all have opportunities to influence those around us to become growing disciples of the Lord. To accomplish this, we desire to be Servant Leaders, just as Jesus Christ was a servant leader, both serving those around him, and modeling servant leadership for his followers. Why Cultural Intelligence? An increasing number of ministry teams are becoming multicultural. Whether your team is all church members or a group of people cooperating in a ministry, you are likely serving on a multicultural team. How can you most effectively serve each other? The better you know each other, the better you can serve. This involves more than just knowing each other as friends and co-workers, but understanding the cultural perspective that impacts your view on life, relationships, and the world around you. Therefore, CQ is a tool which helps you understand each other better so you can better serve each other. What’s involved in the workshop?<ol><li>Complete a Cultural Intelligence (CQ) profile. The CQ profile determines the cultural perspective you have in each of ten cultural dimensions or values. No single value is better than the others. The instrument is a tool to help us know each other better.</li></ol>You will receive instructions from the CQ Center on how to complete the CQ profile. You need to provide the CQ Center 4-5 names and addresses of others who are willing to complete the form on how they observe you. At the most the assessment requires about 15-20 minutes to complete.Please, complete your profile by Friday, March 1. This deadline is necessary for us to compile the reports and prepare for the workshop. <ol><li>Complete 12 short Bible Studies. We'll send you a set of 12 devotional-length Bible studies to prepare for the event. We suggest you complete one Bible study each day beginning about two weeks prior to the workshop, having them all completed prior to the workshop. </li></ol>
