    A mental health support group for birthing people, pregnancy through postpartum.

    Refreshments, Metrocards, and incentives are available for participation.

    The Family Wellness Suite is a child-friendly space.

    Healthy Start Brooklyn: Providing a variety of support programs and classes for expectant and new parents who live in central and eastern Brooklyn. You can get education and support about pregnancy, childbirth, parenting, breastfeeding, fatherhood, Family Foundations, and healthy living.

    NYC DOHMH Family Wellness Suite: A safe, welcoming and supportive space for women and their families to connect to community resources and city agency services for support. Visitors can get help avoiding eviction, enrolling in health insurance and finding a job.

    Interpretation services are available upon request. Please submit requests no later than 72 hours before the event to sbrazley@health.nyc.gov.

    Frequently asked questions

    Do I have to be pregnant or newly postpartum to join the group?

    No. The group is open to all birthing people, pregnancy through postpartum. Topics covered will address perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, which typically have an onset of pregnancy through 12 months postpartum. Please be mindful of this before joining the group.

    Can I bring my children?

    Yes! The Brownsville Health Action Center is a child-friendly space.

    I am not a mother or birthing person. Can I shadow the group?

    Unfortunately, we do not allow folks to shadow the group as Cultivating Grace is a sacred healing space for birthing folks and mothers.

    Are you looking for guest speakers?

    We are not looking for guest speakers at this time. Thank you for your interest.
