Food and Fun! 4-H Culinary Camp.
About this event
Is your child interested in learning to prepare food? Are they curious about where food comes from? Currituck County 4-H is hosting a 2-day Culinary Workshop for youth ages 11 to 16. Participants will engage in hands-on cooking challenges that involve food preparation techniques, insight into nutrition, food and recipe cost analysis, food and kitchen safety, and investigations into the importance of healthy eating and physical activity. Your child will learn the basics of kitchen safety, and will have the opportunity to prepare a variety of foods including main dishes, snacks, desserts, and appetizers. He or she will also have the opportunity to participate in a “Mystery Basket Challenge” on the final day of the camp. The workshop will take place April 19-20 from 9:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., at the N.C. Cooperative Extension of Currituck County at 120 Community Way, Barco, NC 27917. The tuition for this camp covers all supplies and materials, lunch, and snacks for each of the days.
