We're celebrating CUI's 1st birthday on October 12, 2015 (COLUMBUS DAY!) at Queens Comfort​, and the Prince of Darkness will be. there. to. rage. TWO SCREENINGS! Cocktail hour kicks off of with clips of Dracula throughout the ages, including snippets from Dracula (1931, Dir. Todd Browning), Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992, Dir. Francis Ford Coppola), and The Simpsons: Treehouse of Terror IV (1993). This reel will be followed by a short montage of Dracula-related scenes from local film editor Gavin Mevius​. And then... Deadlier than Dracula! His bite is outta sight! He's black! He's beautiful! He's Blacula (1972, Dir. William Crain)! This tale of a vampiric African prince stranded in modern Los Angeles is a classic of the blaxploitation genre and was (we fucking swear we're not making this up) one of Variety's Top 50 Movies of 1972. With screenings for all types of thrill-seeker:
- 6 pm - Intermediary - Things get a little crazy. As the sun sets and the undead rise from the Earth, show up dressed as Dracula/Blacula and get $5 off your ticket. Best costume gets a prize from Queens Comfort. $25.
- 9 pm - Advanced - THE FREAKS COME OUT AT NIGHT. Show up dressed in a costume--the weirder, more unique, and more downright diabolical, the better--and get $5 off your ticket, with the best costume taking home a prize from Queens Comfort. $25.

(Fearless Vampire Killer) Mac 'n' Cheese, with a sauce full of garlic sriracha, parmesan, and ranch served buffet style - Caramel Apple Donut from Queens Comfort's own Donut Diva - "Trick Or Treat Bag" Ice Cream from Sweet Jane's, creamy vanilla ice cream containing a chopped candy bar bounty (including Snickers, Reese's, Butterfingers, and more) - Blood Orange gin cocktails made with Queens Courage gin from Astoria Distilling Company - ... and more TBA!
