What if no one wants to cuddle with me?

That’s a completely normal concern! A lot of people have this worry, especially their first time. While cuddles and touch are not guaranteed, the event offers many opportunities to connect with other participants and an array of skills that empower you to express your desires to connect.

Question 2

What if I don’t want to cuddle with someone?

Accepted Answer

One of the core agreements everyone agrees to during the event is that no one has to cuddle with anyone they don’t want to, ever. We normalize saying “no” during our workshop and give you lots of opportunities to practice this.

Question 3

How do I make a request during the open connection time?

Accepted Answer

We will practice this skill during our workshop, but the formula is simple: Ask “Will you …?” or “May I …?” or “Can we …?” For example, “Will you listen while I talk about my day for a few minutes?” or “May I lay my head in your lap?” or “Can we hold hands while we talk?”

What happens if I get turned on while I’m cuddling?

Accepted Answer

Though many people have exclusively experienced cuddling as a form of foreplay, in the rare instance that arousal occurs during the event, we agree to not act on it. Arousal is an emotion, and we don’t shame emotions. Instead, you might shift positions, have a break, or ask for facilitator support.

Is this dating?

Accepted Answer

No, this is a workshop and community event. We do not encourage dating between participants. That being said, some participants form friendships outside events. If you want to stay connected with someone, you may respectfully offer your contact info. Please do not ask for anyone’s information

Question 6

I’m LGBTQIA2S+. Is this event hetero-normative?

Accepted Answer

No, we don’t focus on sexual attraction, and there will be zero pairings based on gender or sexual orientation. Welcome!

Question 7

Is this therapy?

Accepted Answer

Some participants find that this event can be therapeutic, but it is not therapy. The facilitators are available for support throughout, however they are not operating in the role of counselors or therapists, and this event should not be considered a substitute for professional mental health care.

Question 8

Can I bring my partner and only pair with them?

Accepted Answer

You are more than welcome to come with a partner and stick with them. And we also encourage you to explore connections with other participants and see what gifts the group dynamic has to offer.

I’m more interested in one-on-one cuddling; is that available?

Accepted Answer
