Celebrating Connecticut's Support for Small Business and Entrepreneurs.

SBDC Day is a national, collective proclamation of the success and impact America’s Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) have across the nation in economic development and the small businesses community. 

Hear from small business champions and learn about the businesses CTSBDC helps every day.

Guest Speakers (subject to change):

  • 10:00am: State Representative Joe Aresimowicz, Speaker of the House
  • 10:45am: Anne Hunt, District Director of SBA’s Connecticut District Office 
  • 10:50am: Wendell G. Davis, Regional Administrator of SBA's Region I
  • 11:00am: Sulin Ba, Associate Dean at UConn School of Business
  • 11:30am: Catherine Smith, DECD Commissioner 
  • 11:45am: State Senator Joan Hartley, Chair Commerce Committee
  • 12:00pm: State Representative Caroline Simmons

CTSBDC clients:

This event is set up reception-style with remarks given throughout the scheduled event. 

Light refreshments will be served catered by CTSBDC clients: Borinquen Bakery and Alba's Cafecitos.

Where is the Old Judiciary Room?

The Old Judiciary Room is located on the 3rd floor of the Capitol building. 

What are my parking options for the event?

  • There is limited public parking available behind the Connecticut State Capitol building.
  • There is limited public parking available on the first floor of the parking garage near the Legislative Office Building (300 Capitol Avenue, Hartford). You can then walk through the concourse to get to the Capitol building. 
  • There are parking garages available in the area and some street parking. See options.

Will I need to go through security?

Yes, all visitors to the Capitol building and Legislative Office Building must go through security.
