About this event

This 6-week book study course is focused on Hochman and Wexler’s bestselling book, The Writing Revolution. This research- and evidence-based book was written to help educators better understand how to effectively teach writing at all levels, K-12, and in all content areas. As per The Writing Revolution website, “TWR's evidence-based strategies ensure that all students at all levels can produce clear, coherent, unified, and structured writing. Armed with those strategies, students become better readers, communicators and most importantly, critical thinkers.” (More information about the book can be found on the website.)

Using the social learning platform Perusall provides participants the opportunity to read, discuss, question, and otherwise engage with the text and peers in an asynchronous online learning environment following a two-chapter-per-week schedule. Participants read and annotate (comment on) the chapters of the book within the Perusall platform. Participants can engage with and collaborate with peers by asking questions and commenting on their annotations, leading to discussions of the text, their experiences related to the text, and deeper understandings.

Must purchase the electronic version of The Writing Revolution text within the Perusall platform ($21.00).
