Fun for the whole family!

These mid-week Masses are shorter in duration, but extra powerful in impact! We have families who come with little babies on up through their grandparents. These short Masses have it all - Eucharist, Dancing, Singing, Praising, Scriptures, and a short Kid-Friendly Homily!

KID LEADERSHIP starts with Tuesday Family Mass where the kids hear, sing, and dance to songs they know and have learned. At Family Mass the kids also have the opportunity to take on more leadership roles like ushering, receiving and presenting the offering, leading the prayers of the people, and reading the scriptures. It is absolutely amazing to watch these kids get involved, grow in their faith, and lead so many others to Christ.

DEAR PARENTS OF YOUNG CHILDREN,

WELCOME! When attending Mass at Christ the King Church, may we suggest...

RELAX! God put the wiggle in children; don't feel like you have to suppress it in God's house.

SIT TOWARD THE FRONT where it is easier for your little one to see and hear what is going on. They tire of seeing the backs of others' heads.

QUIETLY EXPLAIN the parts of the service and actions of the priest, deacons, and acolytes, etc.

SING THE HYMNS & SONGS, pray, and voice the responses. Children will learn liturgical behavior by copying you.

If you have to leave with your child, feel free to do so, but PLEASE COME BACK! We have a special "Quiet Room" where you may feel comfortable during the Mass, but we love having your little ones with us in the church. As Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me." (Matthew 19:14)

REMEMBER, the way we welcome children in the church affects the way we respond to the Church, to God, and to one another.

Let them know that THEY ARE AT HOME in this house of worship.

The presence of children is a GIFT to CTK. They are a reminder that our church is growing, and we are so happy to have them here.
