Merrimack River Watershed Council

For decades, the banks of the Merrimack River in Lawrence, MA have hosted one of the largest winter crow roosts in New England. Approximately 15,000 crows begin to form a winter roost along the Merrimack in October and continue through April. 
Seeing thousands of crows converge around the roosting location at sunset is an amazing natural phenomenon! Please join us on Sunday, March 3, in Lawrence to watch the sunset “Crow Show” and enjoy some hot cocoa and conversation, starting at ~4:45 PM and wrapping up ~6 PM. Please note – in contrast to the similar event held on Feb. 10, this event does not include an art gallery component or a formal presentation; however, “Crow Patrol” member and photographer Craig Gibson will be there to share his crow experiences and enthusiasm. Also note: we currently expect that the meeting place will be the Bashara Boathouse at 1 Eaton Street in Lawrence – however, it’s always possible the crows will change their roosting location between now and then, so we will confirm the meeting place via email at least 24 hours prior to the event. We will also let you know in the same timeframe if we need to cancel the event due to winter weather. 
We hope you can join us. Please remember to dress for the cold - i.e., warm boots, gloves, scarf or balaclava, long underwear, etc.!
