Explore Irish folk feminist icons and create a bespoke headpiece with renowned Latvian Artist and Crown designer Lastroda.
We invite you to a unique creative workshop celebrating Irish folk traditions, feminist heritage, and craft. The event is in honour of Sheela na Gig, the fertility goddess, whose feast days falls at that time. Her day arrives the day after Paddy’s Day. We will gather in advance to learn about Irish folk icons like Sheela, Brigit, figures who move between the worlds of saints & pagans, to contemplate which of the folk feminist icons speak most to each participant.
We will be honoured by the presence of renowned Latvian artist and crown designer for Latvian Eurovision entrants & opera stars alike, Lastroda, who will teach us how to make a bespoke headpiece.
