Civic Exchange Chicago

Two strangers, a journalist and a member of the public, walk into a bar … bartender sees them smiling and asks “Why the happy face? You two engaged?”
The journalist says:

WHAT is Crowdsauced III? 
It’s a gathering for any folks working on “engagement” in their newsrooms. What “engagement” actually means to you is something we hash out over a drink.
Speaking of drinks - we’ll cover the first cocktail or non-alcoholic beverage of choice for the first 100 people who RSVP! (If you’re seeing this and we’re “sold out” of tickets - still feel free to come by and hang, we just won’t be able to buy you a round.)

WHY is it?
It’s because there’s a group of us journalists who cared about engagement enough to start our own companies, organizations, initiatives and projects to help news people see the value in treating the public less like consumers and more like partners. And we want to commiserate, share the good times and bad, and find each other so we don’t get too sad and give up on journalism and become goat farmers. As you’ll notice by the “III” - this is the third year of this event, and we’re excited that finally the word “engagement” has become a word whose buzz is too big to ignore.
