The world's first Crow Café! Spend an hour in the company of crows, learn about their incredible qualities, and enjoy some complimentary crow-shaped snacks - all for a good cause. Professional animal wrangler Trevor Smith will be bringing some of his feathered friends - including his beloved crow, YumYum - for you to meet. Also present will be Gilbert the Rook, Elijah the raven, and another crow called Charlie! 
Why crows? For centuries members of the crow family have been trapped, shot, abused, had their nests destroyed and their chicks killed. Legally they are classed as 'vermin'. In the popular imagination they are little more than pests. Many people think that all they do is bother livestock and kill songbirds. We know crows are different. Scientific studies have shown they are remarkably intelligent creatures: they can count, solve puzzles, recognise themselves in mirrors, and even have a 'theory of mind'. Because of this, some in the scientific community now refer to them as 'feathered apes'.
We want to introduce people to the crows we know and love - and help people see them for the incredible creatures they are. Magpies, rooks, ravens, jackdaws: all members of the crow family deserve our respect and our admiration. So please join us - for the love of crows!
Crow Café will now be taking place at Off Quay, an incredible event space with a stunning view across the Thames and the Docklands. Please book in advance and make sure to arrive in time for your chosen time slot! All money made will be donated to Folley Wildlife Rescue, a charity that takes care of corvids and other wildlife. http://www.follywildliferescue.org.uk/birds.html
