Event Details

Every year in November Crossref gets people together to interact with some of our metadata services, and hear updates from us as well as talks from leaders in scholarly communication.

There are two events:

  1. Tech Workshops - Tuesday November 17: This is an opportunity to get into small groups and ask questions about and interact directly with our services to build best practice. The afternoon will include member case studies with tips on implementation and lessons learned. If you're on the technical production side of scholarly publishing, you'll want to be here, and not just for the beer & pretzels afterwards.

  2. Member Meeting - Wednesday November 18: A day to hear from the Crossref team on the latest developments and future initiatives, and some exciting external speakers featuring:

    Marc Abrahams, Improbable Research
Martin Eve - Digital Humanities (Birbeck)
    Scott Chamberlain - rOpenScience
Juan Pablo Alperin - Public Knowledge Project

There will be a cocktail reception following to continue the conversation and celebrate Crossref's 15th Birthday.

Note that both days are free to attend. Please contact us with any questions! The Taj Hotel reservation info.

Crossref

HELLO

Crossref makes research outputs easy to find, cite, link, and assess.

We’re a not-for-profit membership organization that exists to make scholarly communications better. We rally the community; tag and share metadata; run an open infrastructure; play with technology; and make tools and services—all to help put scholarly content in context.

It’s as simple—and as complicated—as that.
